Increase Efficiency & Optimize Your Products and POS System

Sky’s Product Management software allows businesses to efficiently manage their inventory by providing customization at the product level. This could range from establishing categories for certain types of products or adding modifiers, variables or discounts on specific products. Our Product Management suite allows you and your employees a way to organize and simplify your Point of Sale interface to increase your speed of service.

Categories

Easily group your products into categories for quicker access. This feature allows you to group similar products together versus searching your entire inventory. A restaurant might create a category for drinks, appetizers, lunch or dinner items and desserts so servers can quickly find the correct items and pricing. An auto mechanic could group different types of products such as tires, wheels, air filters or oil change supplies.

Products

The product tab inside your dashboard also allows you to add custom items. From the “add new product” screen, you can add anything you need: a custom name, SKU or product ID, pricing, a category, taxes, surcharges, discounts, attributes, variables, barcode, weight. You can also manually edit or add missing information to any inventory item in the system.

Product management does vary from inventory management. Inventory added to a restaurant might include meat, cheese, buns, lettuce, onions, or ketchup. However, these inventory items come together to make a hamburger, which is not an inventory item. Perhaps you are not selling a physical product, but a digital product. You could create an item that is not part of your inventory to sell a digital download such as an MP3, video or software installer.

Attributes

Attributes are characteristics of your products. Products can contain various characteristics that can be tracked under your Insightz . Knowing how many attributes or components of a product are being used can provide valuable insights into adjusting inventory, identifying shrinkage and loss prevention.

The hamburger is a great example of utilizing a product’s attributes. A restaurant could enter all attributes of the entrée - bun, patty, cheese, onion, lettuce, etc.. This is a great tool for being able to reconcile your inventory at the end of the month.

Variables

Variables are often described in mathematical terms as something that changes the outcome of an equation. Variables in product management can function the same way, in manipulating the end product. For example, attributes make up the components of your product, but what if your customer doesn’t need one of the components and you could separate them? This provides that functionality.

Returning to the burger - in the dashboard your burger is constructed based on its attributes marked in the system. However, everyone likes different things on a burger. Variables can be created that can manipulate and customize the diner’s burger. For example; “light mayo”, “no tomato”, “extra cheese”, etc.

Discounts, Surcharges & Taxes

While all of these can be added on the product screen, you can easily create and save customized features for quick selection during the checkout process.

You can create unlimited custom discounts such as a loyalty discount for Sky Rewardz members, senior discount, military discount, or any other discount you can think of.

Similarly, you can create an unlimited number of custom tax settings such as sales tax, locality tax, luxury tax, or various excise taxes.

Lastly, you can create unlimited surcharges on invoices and web payments. Some surcharge examples are credit card fee surcharge, fuel surcharge for moving companies, cleaning surcharge for rental properties, or an adjustable service fee to cover federal or state fees for businesses.
