Sky’s Fee

Our fee structure in the interchange plus model is simple, we get paid when you make money. We are structurally incentivized for your success.

In this plan, Sky Charges 0.75% of the money transacted through its network as its fee.

What is Interchange?

What card companies and issuing banks charge for each transaction.

Card companies Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express have fees associated with each card type. Here you will find Visa’s Fee Schedule that cover 100s of different card types and various usage situations.

A CPS/Retail, debit card would have an interchange cost of 0.80% + 15 cents. If your business accepted a Visa retail debit card for $100 then your cost would be $1.70 with our interchange plus 0.75% pricing model. Or, 1.7%

Who should use interchange plus pricing?

For businesses that accept a lot of debit cards, the interchange plus model will save your business a lot of money.

For businesses that accept a lot of credit cards and reward cards, interchange prices will be higher

Interchange plus in most cases is cheaper than Sky’s flat rate price plan, but the cost per transaction and rate is variable. Sky offers tools to figure your rate with little effort, but the structure of an interchange plus model makes it less predictable.

Businesses that choose interchange plus pricing must understand these variables.

Below is a table showing the fee structure and realized rate of interchange plus 0.75% in a retail environment from an actual customer.

FAQ Frequently Asked Questions
Unlike our competitors, we personally work with all of our customers. None of our customers are numbers in a system. We understand their business models and needs. Therefore, in the event of a chargeback, not only do we have all the data to fight the chargeback, but we go to battle for our customers by understanding how the dispute originated. Conversely, large payment companies don’t take the time to fight chargebacks because maintaining their tier ratio is more important, and because they board merchants without understanding their models.
We offer two rate plans. The first is a flat rate of 2.5% per swipe or 3.2% plus 15 cents for every manual entry of card data. The second is a flat rate of 3% regardless of how it is entered. If you compare to our competitors, we are by far the cheapest.
